About Films At The Fort

What’s better than a picnic in the park? A picnic and movie in the park! This year’s ‘Films At The Fort’ will screen 15 films from the 3rd to the 20th of August ranging from old-school classics like ‘Grease’, to oscar-nominated films like ‘Moon-light’. Attendees can either choose to bring their own picnic food to the event, or munch on snacks from The Prodivore’s on-site kitchen. You’re not allowed to bring your own alcohol, but you can always get your booze fix at the festival’s bar!

If indulging in local delicacies, engaging in retro-themed games, and visiting a flea sound like your thing, then the Long Long Time Ago Charity Carnival might just be the right event for you! There are also kid-friendly games for the little ones making this the perfect event for a family day out. There will also be an open-air screening of Jack Neo’s local production, ‘Long Long Time Ago’ in the evening.

Tickets are on sale for $10, and all funds raised from the event will go towards providing haemodialysis patients with artificial kidneys (A.K.s).

13 August – Ground Zero Run For Humanity

About Ground Zero Run For Humanity

Organised by Mercy Relief, the Ground Zero Run For Humanity simulates an experience of a survivor’s journey from ground zero to collect essential supplies needed for the aftermath of the disaster. All runners will carry a relief pack weighing about 5 – 7kg, which will be collected at the end of the run and given to local families in need in commemoration of World Humanitarian Day. The run also hopes to raise awareness for humanitarian relief efforts.

Don’t worry if you’re not a good runner; just do it for a good cause! (Plus, you’ll get to clock in your daily dose of exercise too!)
