Chinese New Year is approaching and this means that a long weekend will be here soon! As many of us get pumped up to celebrate Chinese New Year, there are some who may be planning a quick getaway to rest and relax during the long weekend break. For those who could not/do not celebrate Chinese New Year, or are planning to have a short getaway during this festive holiday season, here is a list of underrated places for short getaways that you can go to!
1. Bandung, Indonesia
Bandung is the capital of Indonesia’s West Java province and it is well known for its history, arts and culture. If you are feeling adventurous, you can visit The Lodge Earthbound Adventure Park and have some fun too!
2. Khao Lak, Thailand

Khao Lak was unfortunately destroyed in December 2004 after being hit by a tsunami. However, it has been restored and the tourism scene is reviving too. There are tsunami memorials and museums for you to visit, as well as sporting activities for you to try there too. If you do not wish to simply stay in Khao Lak for the entire duration of your trip, you can book day trips and head out to other nearby areas.
